  Description :  Byzantine  Greek Art Icon of St. John the 

Baptist the forerunner made with the traditional way .

The St. John is shown in prayer position half length  facing half left with gently bowed hands and arms raised. He is dressed in a green hiton .The Greek letters means " Saint John the forerunner ". The icon of St John in this position usually is the right part of the triptych "Deesis" which has the icon of Christ on the centre and in prayer position the Icon of Mother of God supplicating from the other side of the Christ.
